How do I report a crime?

Calls can be made to our non-emergency line at (440) 647-2244 to report non-urgent incidents.

I locked my keys in my car, can the police do vehicle lock outs?

Yes, the Wellington Police Department can assist with vehicle lock outs. 

What are your hours for background checks?

You can visit the police department 24/7 for fingerprints. We just ask that you call us at (440) 647-2244 before hand to verify that the jail is currently not in use. Payment can be accepted via cash or check and you must have the ORC reason for your application.

Where do I go to get a golf cart inspection?

How do I submit a records request?

To submit a records request, email

Where do I go to pay a traffic citation or parking ticket?

Yes, the Wellington Police Department does offer ride alongs. A liability waiver is required. This form can be found here.

All traffic citations for offenders age 18 and older are processed through the Oberlin Municipal Court located at 85 S Main St, Oberlin, OH, 44074.

Juvenile offenders may visit the Lorain County Common Pleas Court located at 225 Court St, Elyria, OH, 44035. 

Golf cart inspections are performed at the Wellington Police Department located at 147 E. Herrick Ave. Wellington, OH 44090 24/7, preferably conducted during daytime hours. There is a $10 fee that must be paid via cash or check.
